    Submit a successful Technical Evaluation of The Flow Country and carry out a community consultation across Caithness and Sutherland.

    Compile & submit a full nomination to UNESCO (Jan. 2023) and carry out a second round of consultation across Caithness and Sutherland to shape the process.

    Our online consultation on Commonplace will last for 12 weeks from 9th May. Our in-person consultation will take place in multiple locations in Caithness and Sutherland from May 9th - May 30th.

  • Consideration by UNESCO

    If successful, The Flow Country could be included on the World Heritage Site list in the next two years.

  • Inscription

    End date

    If all goes well the Flow Country will be inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list by mid 2024.
